Epimedium, also known as barrenwort or bishop’s hat, is a perennial plant. This means that it grows and blooms year after year, as opposed to annuals which complete their life cycle in one growing season. As a gardening and landscaping expert, I have had the pleasure of working with Epimedium in various gardens and can confidently say that it is a reliable perennial.
