Do broccoli microgreen seeds need to be soaked?

As a gardening and landscaping expert, I have had experience growing various types of microgreens, including broccoli microgreens. When it comes to soaking broccoli microgreen seeds before planting, it is not necessary to do so.

To start growing broccoli microgreens, you will need a planting tray and potting mixture. Choose a tray with drainage holes and fill it with the potting mixture. Spread the broccoli microgreen seeds evenly on top of the soil, ensuring good coverage. Gently tap the seeds into the soil to ensure they make good contact.

By not soaking the broccoli microgreen seeds beforehand, you can save time and simplify the planting process. Soaking seeds can sometimes lead to uneven germination or mold growth, so it is generally not recommended for broccoli microgreens.

When planting the seeds without soaking, it is important to provide adequate moisture throughout the growing process. Water the tray gently, ensuring that the soil remains moist but not waterlogged. This will help the seeds germinate and the microgreens to grow.

Broccoli microgreens are known for their dense and nutritious foliage. To achieve this, it is recommended to cover as much soil as possible with seeds. This will result in a dense crop of microgreens, providing a bountiful and flavorful harvest.

Soaking broccoli microgreen seeds before planting is not necessary. By directly sowing the seeds on the potting mixture and providing proper moisture, you can successfully grow dense and nutritious broccoli microgreens.
