How big does Aeonium kiwi get?

Aeonium kiwi, commonly known as Kiwi Aeonium, is a popular succulent plant that adds a unique touch to any garden or container. When it comes to size, Aeonium kiwi can grow into a shrub-like plant, reaching heights of 2-3 feet and spreading out to a similar width. However, it’s important to note that the size of this plant can vary depending on the climate and growing conditions.

In areas where Aeonium kiwi is hardy enough to overwinter, it can reach its full potential and grow to its maximum size. This means that if you live in a region where the temperatures are mild enough for the plant to survive the winter, you can expect it to grow into a compact shrub-like structure, both in height and width.

On the other hand, if you choose to grow Aeonium kiwi in containers, its size will be limited to the space provided by the container. This can be advantageous for those with limited garden space or for those who want to control the size of the plant. In containers, Aeonium kiwi will grow as large as the container allows, but it is important to choose a container that is proportionate to the plant’s growth potential.

I have personally grown Aeonium kiwi in both garden beds and containers, and I have observed some interesting differences in size. In my garden, where the plant was exposed to the elements and had ample space to grow, it reached a height of around 2 feet and spread out to about the same width. The plant had a sturdy and robust appearance, with multiple rosettes of colorful leaves.

In contrast, when I grew Aeonium kiwi in a container, it remained more compact in size. The container I used had a diameter of about 1 foot, which limited the plant’s growth. Despite this limitation, the plant still developed beautifully, with its rosettes of variegated leaves adding a delightful touch to my patio.

To summarize, Aeonium kiwi can grow up to 2-3 feet tall and wide in areas where it can overwinter. However, if grown in containers, its size will be determined by the size of the container. Regardless of its size, Aeonium kiwi is a stunning plant that adds a touch of beauty and uniqueness to any garden or container arrangement.
